‘Rita Skeeter knew what she was doing’: Potterheads Discuss the Best Animagus Animals to Transform Into in the Wizarding World

Much like a Patronus, if a wizard decides to become an Animagus, they don't get to choose which animal they can transform into. One can go through the entire process only to find out their animal form is completely useless and not at all what they expected to become. Considering it is not an easy task in the first place, maybe the lack of choice is one of the reasons not many wizards undergo the process, and decide to pass on the ability of Animagi.

That being said, here in the real world, we can talk as hypothetically as we want to, with no consequences whatsoever. Debating how our lives would look like in the wizarding world is one of the most interesting debates a true geek can have. This is why we found the question of - 'Which Animagus animal would you be?' an intriguing question that we enjoyed delving into.

It would be useful to be an animal that can fly and I prefer to be small enough to eavesdrop other people conversations without being noticed. I think that to turn into a big beast is kind of useless.

    esepleor 2d ago Ravenclaw You can't choose your animagus form, but I'd go with phoenix if I could. Even if it doesn't grant you immortality, it still protects you from the k ng curse and you can use the tears to heal others.

    If you can't turn into magical animals, I'd choose either a raven or a lion because they're both awesome. Although I do see how choosing something similar to Rita Skeeter's beetle would be much more useful

    because you basically become. invisible and you can exploit it like Rita did to gain information and therefore power (at the cost of becoming a quite pathetic person of course).
